GenWeb 2007 is a SaaS (Software as a Service) software application that enables users to Build a website or Build a Blog site or a website combining both of these options. You do not have to download any software; it's all online.

So how does it work?

  Buy a subscription to GenWeb by clicking on the Buy Now menu or sign up for a Free 30 Day Trial

  Logon to the Admin side of your website

  Add menu items such as - Contact Us, About Us, Company, Products etc, you choose what you want

  Add Web Pages or Blog/News Items and then add these pages to the menu

  Using the Setup option configure how your website will look visually

  Now check how your web site looks to the rest of the Internet and correct any issues 
    

 


GenWeb 2007 Features

GenWeb uses an HTML rich text editor which enables you to add text & format it, add photos & images or video






The editor is WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) & the tool bar displayed above allows -

Spell Checking, Preview the page, show the editor full screen size, Copy, Paste, Paste from Word, Paste plain text,
Cut, Clean up HTML, Undo, Redo, Insert Break and Paragraph, insert Date, Time & Symbols, Emotions, insert Images,  insert a table and configure, insert Hyperlinks. In a word it works like Word.

GenWeb supports a display size of 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768; the admin screen defaults to a size of 1024 x 768

You can password protect an individual web page; it would have its own password

You can password protect the whole web site with a single and password

Wrap your text around images

Built into the GenWeb HTML editor is a image editor. This allows you to resize, change dimensions, scale, crop, add text, optimize, rotate, flip, mirror and add a watermark to.
 
Other Features

A GenWeb website is centred on the users computer screen; there is the option to have a background gradient image which increases increases website content contrast; for examples see the www.Genweb.co.nz homepage.

An option to draw a line around the webpage and Blog/News items and define the size and colour of this line.

You can password protect the whole web site with a single user name and password.

Each web page can be hidden; so when this option is checked this web page does not show on the menu, site map or search.

There is a new hierarchical site map.

New Forum option available in Professional + version of GenWeb

By ticking check boxes on the Web Page or Blog/News Items the authors name, date and time can be display on the published page. Fonts and colours for this are specified in Setup.

A new layout design with tabs on Setup makes website setup and admin easier.

A Revert option allows you to rollback to a previous version of a web page if you mess it up; or even if you just want to.

The Category option allows you to categorise Blog/News pages; this allows users to display Blog content by Category i.e. Technical, Sales etc.

There is a Parked option; Web Pages and Blog/News Items are initially marked as Parked by default. The Web Page List option shows Parked pages which can be added to a menu item.
